The life you’re living..??
Since my trip to AZ was a bit eventful I decided to be prepared for my return. Not only was I on time for my flight, I was able to search for a healthy meal before jumping on my plane. As you know the food choices at airports can be a bit sketchy, but was in luck when I spotted Olive & Ivy Café in the Phoenix airport. Although I was tempted to order one of their high calorie sandwiches I exercised the will power that I so much preach and I settled for a delicious Greek salad. Wanting to share this inspiring moment with all of you...I asked the nice young man sitting at the next table to take a quick pic! As I was putting away my phone, we started talking about why we were both at the airport; he was on his way to his uncle’s funeral that had just died from a sudden heart attack.
As I listened to his story, his voice became a soothing echo blending with the sounds of other conversations; my mind slowly began to wonder. Next month will be 3 years since I lost my beautiful son from an unexpected tragic accident. Marco was only 2 years old when he died, he had such a short live lived; so many dreams never dreamt so many things never done...
Time has healed some of my wounds, but his love was greater than my heart and the feelings of loss so dear to me simply make it difficult to express. I hide the tears of pain and despair still seeded so deep and yet as I look around I realize that I am not alone. My new friend losing his uncle, my two dear friends Leigh and Victoria have recently lost a father and a husband and I am sure you have either lost a loved one or someone that you know has been faced with death.
The realization of how fragile life is reminds us the importance of taking care of our bodies to prevent disease before it even starts. We are alive today but we could be gone tomorrow. I want you to take a minute today to reflect on your personal life and the choices you make each day. Ask yourself, do I live each day as it was my last day? Do I love each day as if tomorrow that person won't be here to receive my love anymore? Do I matter enough to accept change in my life?
If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, I want you to close your eyes and meditate on the choices you have made today and as you do that ask yourself: "Do I love myself enough to grant me the permission to be healthy, to make choices that enhance my health and well being?
If you don't take care of your body, where are you going to live? Because, no matter how much money you make, how much glory you get or how beautiful you are, if you don't have your health, you have nothing at all.
My tip for the day is live every day like it may be your last, make healthy choices today for the outcome they will provide tomorrow and set realistic goals in harmony with your life. Remember, BE REAL NOT IDEAL!
Tell me, what changes do you want to make in your life? Do you have goals that you want to set? Have you lost a loved one and what did you do to overcome your loss?
If you have been inspired by this post share it with your friends to inspire their day. Leave me your comments below I would love to hear from you, until next time!
